Pungume Sandbank BBQ and snorkling

A paradise in paradise! Full day trip with snorkling and seafood BBQ
Pungume sandbank is a beautiful crescent-shaped sandbank that appears during low tide. This little patch of paradise is one of the most idyllic places in Zanzibar and is located approximately 1.5 hours from Kizimkazi on southern Zanzibar.
When we come to the impressive corals and underwater life around Pungume Island we jump into the azur blue ocean to swim amongst hundreds of colorful fish that immerses you in the crystal clear water. Apart from flocks of colorful tropical fish, sea urchins, starfish and other magical underwater creatures live among the corals.

While enjoying the sandbank, the water and the view, we prepare a delicious BBQ cooked in the simplest but most alluring way that is guaranteed to impress you about the locl cuisine. Shrimp, lobster and fish together with local specialties and exotic fruit is on the menu. After lunch it’s time for a little rest, reading, taking a bath or just enjoy the breathtaking views. With a cold beverage in hand and a camera to immortalize paradise it is not much more you need.

When the water comes back we stay until the last second and head back home when the temporary island is gone.
This trip is usually about 6-7 hours long, but can last until the sand bank slip under the water.
