Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar

Day 01 Arrival
Pick up at the Kilimanjaro Airport and check in at L’Oasis Lodge, at the foot of Mt. Meru. Traditional round huts are clustered in the tropical garden, and a small pool guarantees to have some extra fun.

Day 02 Lake Manyara
Today safari in Lake Manyara National Park. Situated at the great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. Animals residing here is buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others.
Overnight at the intimate Rift Valley Lodge overlooking Lake Manyara and grazing animals.

Day 03 Exploring Lake Manyara
Today less time in car and more time exploring the area at the Rift Valley Escarpment by foot guided by well trained local guides. First a visit to Mto wa Mbu Village to gain insight in the local village and social life, school and many others things. Then we walk through a small forest inhabited by monkeys and dikdiks taking us to Miwaleni River. After following the river, hiking and climbing over rocks and stones we reach Miwaleni Waterfall hidden in the Rift Valley Escarpment.
After lunch at the lodge you can enjoy the lodge or go for a bicycle ride in the plains towards Lake Manyara.

Day 04 Ngorongoro
Today a drive into Ngorongoro Conservation Area with all its massai villages and striking landscape. We descend into the crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is often described as one of the wonders of the world and one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, it is one of Africa’s densest animal populations. Lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species walk on the crater floor. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one day only.

After breakfast we move towards Serengeti National Park . Todays drive will be eventful as we will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and some buffalos hiding in the bush. We visit a Maasai village and get introduced to the traditional life of the Maasai tribe. In the conservation area of Ngorongoro about 50 000 Maasai lives a pastoral life honoring their traditions. You can also see inside their houses, meet children, ask questions and take photos!
Once inside the Serengeti we will have a pick-nick lunch. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species.
Two nights will be spent in at the edge of the famous Serengeti, with views over the endless savannah with some animals and typically African acacia trees. Enjoy some relaxing hours at the camp fire under open sky after dinner.

Day 06 Serengeti
Early morning game drive to see nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light. Then we return to the lodge for a relaxed lunch under the shade of an old acacia tree.
In the afternoon you can go out again on game drives or stretch your restless legs on a nature walk around the camp with some resident tribesmen. They are happy to share their knowledge of plants and animals surrounding them and introduce you into their use of traditional bow and arrow for hunting.

Day 07 Serengeti-Zanzibar
After last bush breakfast at your camp we take you to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti, for your flight to Zanzibar (departure at around 11:05 with arrival around 14:30).
Transfer to Casa Del Mar or Spice Island Resort , both in Jambiani

Day 08 – 10 Enjoy the paradise island

Day 11 Stone Town and Spice Tour
After breakfast transfer to Stone Town. On the way we will do the famous Spice Tour. were you can see, smell and taste all the spices and herbs you usually see in cans in the shop. Lunch is eaten on the farm.
Your hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Stone Town at the beautiful waterfront where in the afternoon the locals gather together for some football, gymnastics or just some relaxed socializing on the sand. A turquoise blue pool ensures refreshment from the heat of the day and you can also swim from the beach.

Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your departure.
