Stone Town snorkeling- Bawe Island

One of the best snorkeling spots on Zanzibar is situated 20 min West of Stone Town.  Crystal clear water, fascinating colorful corals and flock of fish. There are two reefs to visit nearby each other – slightly different from one another.  At low tide the coral and the fish is right under your belly.

We tale a traditional wood boat 20 min out and reach the first coral reef. After discovering this secret under water life we continue to Bawe Sandbank ( provided the tide is low so the sand bank surfaces) for a fruit break. After that we jump in from the sandbank to discover the other coral reef. When you feel it is time to go back we turn East to Stone Town again.
