Kizimkazi

Kizimkazi – an authentic fishing village

Kizimkazi is small and quiet. But special. The surrounding coral cliffs offers a spectacular view and sunset.  Just outside is a reef- so close you can swim to it for daily snorkeling if you want. And then there is the dolphin spotting. This is the main spot for seeing dolphins on Zanzibar. A big group stays here to breed, feed and play. Usually you can swim with them.

This is also Zanzibars most important place for landing the big fish: tuna, marlin, dorado, red snapper and others  get caught here. Daily an auction is held and you can see these impressive fish- usually caught with a line.

The beach at Kizimkazi is quiet and peaceful

Our favorite accomodations:
Karamba Resort – lies on a cliff with horizon ( and dolphins) view. And a pool next to a stair down to the Indian Ocean.

Promised Land Lodge is a charming budget accomodation where you stay in huts and rest in hammocks.
