Muugoni, 15 min from the East coast, is a lush and green area. Our guide Rama, a forest preservation enthusiast, lives here with his wife Warda. While Warda prepare a tasty lunch, Rama takes us around his village to see how the village life is on Zanzibar. After eating together in the family house, Rama brings us down to the mangroves while he shows the medicinal plants and its use, and fruits and other plants in season.

The mangrove forest is a quiet and mysterious place. When coming down to the mangrove our captain bring us out with his traditional dug out mango canoe common ly used by the fishermen.
